ID Garden

Have you seen our ID Garden across from the hoop greenhouse? It was created by student interns. Here you’ll find plants native to our area. Natives are important because they support our necessary birds, bees and insects with food and shelter that they can not get from many non-native plants. They also take less water and usually no fertilizer as they are used to growing in the area.

Watch them through the seasons and see how they grow and what kind of light they need. The garden tags give the common and Latin names and show you the native plants you may see in the Arboretum and that you can grow in your own backyard.
