Sprogel’s Run Trail

The Sprogel’s Run Trail connects the eastern end of the Arboretum to Sussel Park with its two ponds. On the western end it connects to Prout Farm Park and its field ecosystem. The Master Plan was developed by Upper Pottsgrove High School students who were members of the Spark the Wave Club. Members of the club worked not only to develop the plan but also worked with Upper Pottsgrove Open Space Committee and the Township Planning Commission to get our “master plan” approved and partially funded. Thank You Volunteers!

With less than 48 hours notification and temperatures only slightly above freezing, 13 volunteers showed up on Sunday, December 7th clearing Penns Wood Trail in less than two hours! Middle school students, students from Pottsgrove High School Spark the Wave Club, neighbors and a Township Commissioner all joined in to make short work of a project that would have cost the Arboretum a significant amount of money if we had to pay for it.
