Trumpet Honeysuckle

Trumpet Honeysuckle

Lonicera sempervirens
Common Name: Trumpet Honeysuckle

This was the plant that I was most excited to purchase this past spring. Lonicera sempervirens is a Pennsylvania native vine that is tame enough for use in a home landscape. I planted my 12” young vine after relocating a struggling Clematis that had never fulfilled my vision for the trellis next to the patio.  Trumpet Honeysuckle will grow to approximately 15 feet and can be trimmed back as necessary. Attracts hummingbirds! Although my vine did not have many flowers on it this year, I am sure that it will do better next year.  I photographed a single bloom today in mid-November!
