With less than 48 hours notification and temperatures only slightly above freezing, 13 volunteers showed up on Sunday, December 7th clearing Penns Wood Trail in less than two hours!
Middle school students, students from Pottsgrove High School Spark the Wave Club, neighbors and a Township Commissioner all joined in to make short work of a project that would have cost the Arboretum a significant amount of money if we had to pay for it.
The trail along Snyder Road will be a model of how nature and power lines can co-exist as well as an asset to the scenic road. The stone has been put in place and lots of friends and neighbors and many dogs have been enjoying it. If you haven’t been there yet it’s worth a visit.
