But it needs lots of TLC! Built, we believe, in the 1700’s (we found the logs in the walls from when it was a log cabin!) the house has gone through lots of changes and families. Master Plan

The Master Plan was developed by Upper Pottsgrove High School students who were members of the Spark the Wave Club. Members of the club worked not only to develop the plan but also worked with Upper Pottsgrove Open Space Committee and the Township Planning Commission to get our “master plan” approved and partially funded. 11/12/14  Painting begins on the Historic House Work has begun to scrape and prime the old wooden siding and prepare it for a coat of paint.  It will take many hours of work, but eventually the outside will be protected again after 20 years of abuse from the weather! Save Save Save

Progress…. Thanks to volunteers from St. Luke Lutheran Church. First ones to work on the house. A day of much-appreciated scrapping and painting. The house when completed will have offices upstairs for the SAVE Foundation (GreenAllies) which runs all of the programs and activities for the Arboretum and a community meeting place downstairs for visitors to enjoy. (Think meeting a friend for a walk and stopping in for a cup of coffee and a chat or meeting new friends!) Need…

Ok, so you can’t see them, but there are honeybees living behind the external wood of our house! (Right up there in the corner.) Estimates put the hive population at over 50,000 bees! Our brave volunteer (and Board Member) Andy has come prepared. He listens to the walls to locate them. So what are we going to do?
