Golden Groundsel

  A new friend recently gave me a few of these plants from her property. Packera obovata is a native plant that does well in shade to partly sunny areas. The plants spread to form a thick green ground cover from which the bright yellow flowers stand out. Phlox divaricata ‘Blue Moon’

I was lucky to find these at Glick’s (Oley, PA) clearance sale last summer. Phlox divaricata is in full bloom right now and should last into May. I just took this picture a few minutes ago of my plants on this gray morning.  The purple flowers seem to glow in the mornings and evenings.
