Your child will have a fun time outdoors doing activities that foster a healthy lifestyle while helping create a better understanding of our natural world. These camps are a fun way to learn!  Your child will also enjoy interacting with our motivated and responsible high school and college student volunteers. All activities are directed by these amazing students and under the supervision of our Program Director and Executive Director who has 20 years of environmental education experience.


Summer 2017 Camps

**All weeks are full except Week Four, if you are interested in these weeks you can register and be put on a waiting list.**

**FULL** Week One: June 26th – 30th                     Mad Scientists

Get pumped to complete crazy experiments and learn about the basics of science in nature. This hands-on week gives campers the opportunity to investigate, examine, and observe how science is involved with many aspects of our natural world.

**FULL** Week Two: July 10th – 14th                       Water Week

Get ready to explore streams, ponds, and the creatures that live there as we dive into water week! While learning about water pollution, conservation, and the water cycle we will be having fun with games and activities. Don’t forget your bathing suit because we will be getting wet with water games and water activities.

** FULL** Week Three: July 17th – 21st                      Wild Beasts

Wildlife is all around us at the Arboretum as long as we know where to look. Learn about the cute and no so cute creatures that live in the wild! We will go on a scavenger hunt, catch insects, and explore the Arboretums many habitats to find out what lives in our woods.

Week Four: July 24th – 28th                                         Nature Hero

Grab your cape and join us in learning about conservation and how to become your own nature super hero. Campers will learn the importance of recycling, preventing water pollution, and protecting wildlife and its habitats. Also, we will be learning nature survival skills to protect your-self while exploring in the outdoors.

**FULL** Week Five: July 31st – August 4th           Adventure Camp 

Explore, jump and climb your way around the Arboretum for this fun and exciting week of camp. Learn about leadership and teamwork by completing an obstacle course, building a fort, hiking on boulders, and having a blast with many other activities.

**FULL** Week Six: August 7th – 11th                       Forest Detectives

It is up to the campers to save the Arboretum! Will you be able to solve the nature clues and master the activities to defeat the evil Emerald Ash Borer!! Find out on this fun, spy-filled week. Use all your senses to learn and play this week of camp!

** FULL ** Week Seven: August 14th – 18th            Best of Camp

Get ready for the best of Summer Nature Camp week! We will have fun with everyone’s favorite camp games and activities.  We will even try some new, more advanced fun activities. On the last day of camp, Friday, we will have an end of summer party. Don’t miss this one because you will enjoy a little bit of everything this week!



Full Day Camp  (9-4pm)        $135/week

Half Day Camp (9-Noon)      $58/week

Extended Care:  extra $25/week
-drop off as early as 8am and pick until 5pm


How to Register

  1. Fill out google form below and hit submit
  2. When we receive your form we will mail you required paperwork which will need to be filled out and sent back with your check. This will reserve your child’s place in our camp(s).
  3. When forms and payment are received you will get an email confirmation and receipt.


Payments can be received through a check or Paypal. However with Paypal there is a small extra fee for processing.

Additional Questions

What to bring?
Please send your child fully sun blocked, with sturdy shoes (no flip flops), and dressed for the weather. If your child is staying for the full day they will need a non-refrigerated lunch. We will let you know when you need to bring a swimsuit and towel.

Morning snack and cold water is included for all campers!

What happens with inclement weather?
We will continue to have camp unless there is severe wind or thunderstorms. Send your child with a rain jacket or poncho if rain is in the forecast. We will have fun jumping in puddles!

Can I drop off early?
Yes, we have before and after camp care available for an additional $25/week. You can drop off as early as 8am but organized activities won’t begin until 9am. Campers can stay as late as 5pm.
