Household Electronics and Appliance Recycling Day

Nonprofit Managers of the Althouse Arboretum

Saturday, FEBRUARY 24TH
9 AM TO 1 PM
Location: Hillside Aquatic Club Parking Lot, 134 West Moyer Road, Pottstown

$10 donation per vehicle (unlimited amount). Additional fee for certain items (see below).

Because of environmental issues that make safe disposal expensive, the following require an additional fee:
CRT monitors and Conventional TV’s          $45 per unit up to 30 inches
$65 per unit over 40 inches or in a cabinet/box

Volunteers will help you unload! All donations will be used to fund the non-profit GreenAllies which manages the Althouse Arboretum. Help us be able to promote student leadership and put on great community programs this spring and summer!

Forest Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, March 24th       10 – 1 pm
$5 per child
Parking Hillside Aquatic Club Parking Lot, 134 West Moyer Road, Pottstown. Shuttle to Arboretum provided.
Our Easter Egg Hunt is open to all kids! It is not a competitive event, but rather designed to be a relaxing, fun walk looking for eggs scattered along the trails in the forest. There are also games, food and crafts under the pavilion!

Explore the trails…collect eggs…turn in for candy!!!

Spring Programs

 

Earth Day Volunteer Days

Saturday & Sunday, April 21st & 22nd      9 – 4 pm

Celebrate Earth Day by joining us anytime between 9am and 4pm either or both days to spruce up the Arboretum for Spring. A great time to come out of hibernation, meet friends and neighbors, give the family a chance to make a difference and be an integral part of the Arboretum. Bring work gloves if you have them (if not we’ll provide them!) and we’ll have refreshments too.

Clothing & Shoe Drive

Saturday, April 21st    9 – 2:30 pm
Drop off your gently used clothing, household linens, and shoes in bag please. Help GreenAllies at the Althouse Arboretum create awareness in the community, raise funds, and give back to low income areas all while cleaning out your home.

Bird Walk

Saturday, April 28th & May 5th       8 am
Join us for a bird walk through our Arboretum trails with our bird aficionado.

Native Plant Sale

Saturday, May 19th      9am – 1 pm
The students are working hard the last few months to bring you a variety of over 40 different kinds of plants at their 3rd annual Native Plant Sale. There will be plants for sun and shade and house plants too. All proceeds go to supporting the Arboretum.
